It only holds the information it needs to do a specific function and then when that function is finished, it's deleted from the computer's memory.

The tests that the school systems are implementing test only their ability to regurgitate facts, not principles. In the book, Thom and Joani discuss the problems plaguing both the secular educational institutions and the church. And offer ways to ensure that not only our children, but adult church goers learn what it means to live like a Christian and not just a purveyor of Trivial Pursuit like facts and Bible verses.

I chose this book not only because it sounded like a very interesting read, but also because I did grow up being taught in the way Thom and Joani are opponents of. And growing up in that kind of atmosphere has actually turned me off to religion and I was really interested about reading a book that had such a powerful title. People from my hometown follow their religion blindly and without contesting the ideas force fed to them and I was intrigued at reading an author who had views challenging the church's current educational procedures and methods.

What I really wanted to gain from reading this book was insight into and tools for bettering myself as a teacher. I plan to go overseas to teach English as a Second Language and the exercises and principles explained in this book not only apply to Church Education but can be used in my teaching English. The Church, as well as the secular school system, are teaching modern learners in the traditional methods and they aren't working.
